On Thursday, March 13, 2025, the Agence Nationale des Investissements et des Exportations (ANIE – National Agency for Investments and Exports) and Alinea International formalized their partnership during a convention signing ceremony at ANIE’s headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad.
This partnership is part of the Lake Chad Basin Conservation Project, funded by Global Affairs Canada, and aims to establish a formal and efficient framework for collaboration between ANIE and Alinea in implementing the component focused on value chain development and income-generating activities.
The signing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Mabrouk Khalifa Faradj, Consul of Canada in Chad, and the Director General, Mr. Khassim Lol Mahamat Choua, in the presence of teams from Alinea International and ANIE.
This agreement is the result of effective collaboration between both entities to strengthen their joint cooperation framework aimed at supporting women and youth in developing climate-resilient economic activities and structuring local product value chains. Additionally, it will enhance the promotion of small and medium-sized enterprises that add value to local products while providing support to producers and facilitating their access to financing and markets at local, sub-regional, and regional levels.
Speaking on behalf of ANIE, Director General Lol Mahamat Choua stated:
“It is both a pleasure and an honor for me to speak on the occasion of the signing of this agreement between ANIE and Alinea International, which marks a decisive step forward in our shared ambition. On the one hand, this partnership aligns with the commitments of Chad and Canada to promote investment and strengthen local capacities. On the other hand, it demonstrates the willingness of our two institutions to combine efforts to create value, structure production chains, and stimulate local entrepreneurship.”
Afterward, Alinea International’s Regional Director, Mr. François Awounkeu, expressed his gratitude to ANIE and the Alinea teams who worked tirelessly not only to finalize the signing of the agreement but also to ensure the successful organization of the ceremony.
The formalization of this agreement between ANIE and Alinea International marks a significant step toward sustainable economic transformation in the Lake Chad Basin.
